Pollachi: The rural police arrested a former home guard for the illegal sale of ganja in Pollachi and similarly, another has been arrested for possession and sale of gutkha.
Based on the orders of Coimbatore District Superintendent Selvanagarathinam, the police are conducting continuous vehicle audits within the city and in the state, borders to avoid the sale of banned products.
As per the instructions of Deputy Superintendent Tamilmani, SI Sultan Ibrahim and police conducted a vehicle search at Anthiyur check post under Komangalam police station range near Pollachi. In the probe conducted in the Palani-Pollachi bus, Murthy of the Muthur area was arrested for possession of 2 kg contraband.
Similarly, 10 kg of pan masala and gutkha was seized from Hariramakrishnan, who was involved in the sale of pan masala gutkha in the east police limits
