The top three winners at the Rekla race held here as part of MLA Udhayanidhi Stalin’s birthday were felicitated with gold coins and Royal Enfield Bullet by Minister Senthil Balaji
Coimbatore: A bullock cart ‘rekla’ race was organized in Othakalmandapam on behalf of the District East DMK as part of DMK youth Wing secretary, Udhayanidhi Stalin MLA’s birthday celebrations. The competition was held in two categories-200 meters, 300 meters and over 500 bulls participated from across the city including Pollachi, Vellalur, Kinathukadavu, Thondamuthur areas.
In the 200 m category, Satish Kumar of 'No.10 Muthur',Kathirvel of Thondamuthur, and Anbu Dinesh of Veerappanur took the top three positions, while in the 300m category, Dhanasekar, Rasu, and Guruprakash secured the top three places.
The winners were presented with a motorcycle-bullet bike and a sovereign gold coin by Minister Senthil Balaji, Minister of State for Electricity, Prohibition, and Excise. Those in positions from 4 to 10 were given a gram of gold coin each and those from 11 to 20 were awarded trophies

Coimbatore East District Executive Senathipathi, former MLA Karthik, former Minister Pongalur Palanisamy, District Executive Committee member Kurichi Prabhakaran and Kinathukadavu West Union Secretary Mohammed Yasin participated in the felicitation ceremony.
