The Chennai Met department has stated that districts including delta regions might witness heavy rains today and tomorrow due to monsoon winds.
Coimbatore: Seven districts including Coimbatore have been declared with chances of heavy rainfall today as per the Chennai Meteorological Department
Chennai Meteorological Department Director Puviyarasan issued a press release in which he stated,
“Tirunelveli, Ramanathapuram, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagai, and Mayiladuthurai districts will see heavy rains due to the wind for northeast monsoon. There will be more heavy showers in Ariyalur, Perambalur, Kallakurichi, Tiruvannamalai, Tuticorin, and Coimbatore districts tomorrow.
Other districts will have moderate rainfall today and tomorrow and the sky will be cloudy in Chennai. Some places will receive moderate rainfall. A maximum of 31 degree Celsius to a minimum of 24 will be recorded.
In the last 24 hours, the maximum rainfall recorded in the state was 10 cm at Ayukudi in Tenkasi district. Periyar, 8; Tenkasi, Viralimalai, Sengottai have received 5 cm of rain.
