The DVAC caught a Revenue Inspector in the act of accepting a bribe from a gravel vendor.
Tirupur: The officials of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) arrested a Revenue Inspector in Tirupur on charges of taking a bribe. The Revenue Inspector was caught in the act of accepting a bribe from a gravel vendor.
According to the complainant, Senthil Kumar who is a native of Coimbatore works as the Revenue inspector in Pongalur and had allegedly demanded ₹.30,000 from the gravel vendor in order to let the latter operate the gravel vehicle. The Revenue Inspector reportedly agreed to ₹.25,000 later.
The gravel vendor approached the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) and based on his complaint, the team caught Senthil Kumar red-handed when the complainant handed over ₹.25,000 laced in chemicals. The DVAC officials later arrested Senthil Kumar.
