Plans afoot to create low-rent special ward at Coimbatore Government Hospital

The new scheme will be implemented by the Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation.


Coimbatore: With Coimbatore Government Hospital attending to over 5,000 patients daily from various districts and the neighboring state of Kerala, plans are afoot to create a special ward at low rent so that not only the poor and needy but also the affluent can avail medical treatment.

Dr. Nirmala, Dean, Coimbatore Government Hospital said, "We are looking at setting up a special ward at a low rent, like a private hospital, to treat all types of patients at the Coimbatore Government Hospital. The new scheme will be implemented by the Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation."
