Coimbatore: A case has been registered against 20 people, including an AIADMK MLA who held a rally in Coimbatore in violation of the ban.

The rally was on account of late former Chief Minister, J Jayalalithaa's death anniversary being observed at the AIADMK headquarters on Avinashi Road in Coimbatore on Sunday.
AIADMK workers led by MLA Amman K Arjunan marched from the city’s AIADMK headquarters, violating the ban on rallies without police permission and not observing social distancing which is a part of Covid safety norms. Hence, a case has been registered against 20 people, including the AIADMK MLA for conducting the rally.
