As an initiative to prevent crime, the Residents' Welfare Association installed surveillance cameras at 32 locations in Hindu Nagar and VIP Nagar residential areas on Vilankurichi Road in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: The Hindu Nagar and VIP Nagar residential areas comprise over 100 houses which are located on Coimbatore's Vilankurichi Road. Realizing that CCTV cameras play a vital role in preventing crime, the Residents' Welfare Association of both areas decided to install CCTV cameras at various locations in the neighbourhood.
Surveillance cameras have been installed at 32 locations which is a result of the initiative undertaken by union executives with the participation of residents. The event for installing the CCTV cameras took place on Sunday evening. Kavundampalayam Assembly constituency AIADMK MLA PRG Arunkumar unveiled the CCTV camera surveillance screen. Singanallur Assembly constituency AIADMK MLA KR Jayaram, CCTV Camera Control Room Office launched the cell phone connection processor. Hindu Nagar and VIP Nagar Residents' Welfare Association President Ramanathan, Vice President Suriyan, Secretary Venugopal, Joint Secretary Mahendran, Treasurer Kannan and many others were present.
Viswanathan, Managing Director, 'Ammarun' Bounty, was commended for continuing to provide additional funding and co-operation for efforts previously made on behalf of the Residents' Welfare Association. Special guests lauded the Residents' Welfare Association for installing surveillance cameras at 32 locations which covers 100 houses and working in solidarity to prevent crime in the neighbourhood.
