More than 1000 policemen have been deployed with the city on high alert owing to Babri Masjid demolition day
Coimbatore: Bomb experts along with sniffer dogs inspected areas across the city, such as the bus stations, train station and Coimbatore International Airport on account of Babri Masjid Demolition Day being observed on December 6.
Several phases of security and surveillance will also be put in place across the country to prevent any untoward incidents. Police have been monitoring the situation in Coimbatore for the past one week. They have been conducting raids at Coimbatore's major railway station, bus stations and airport with sniffer dogs and bomb detector equipment.
The surveillance was intensified on December 6 with security forces conducting intensive surveillance at key locations across Coimbatore, such as the railway station, airport, Ukkadam, Gandhipuram and town hall areas. Intensive security measures using sniffer dogs and bomb detectors at train stations, airports and bus stations has also been ongoing.
