The incessant, heavy rains in Coimbatore has been major trouble for the motorists especially after a four-wheeler drowned in the water on Saturday, luckily leaving out the driver.

Coimbatore has been receiving rain for the past few days. A four-wheeler reportedly was engulfed in the rainwater under the bridge in the Marakkadai area in Uppilipalayam on Saturday. The driver and however survived without harm. A private bus similarly was stuck in the tunnel in Lanka corner, the passengers were rescued without harm.
The sky seemed cloudy at around 12 pm today and the city received heavy thundershowers at 1.30 pm.
Rain water flooded roads in various areas including Ukkadam, Ramanathapuram, Gandhipuram, Singanallur, Sundarapuram, Vadavalli, Gandhipuram, Race Course, Puliyakulam, Trichy Road, Saravanampatti, Ganpathi Managar, Gandhi Nagar, Peelamedu, Kiranatham, causing traffic jam.
Moreover, heavy rains caused water-logging in the lower part of Lanka's Corner flyover near Coimbatore railway station, disrupting traffic. Motorists suffered severely in the government hospital area as well.
