The Coimbatore Corporation has warned of strict action and permanent disconnection of drinking water supply to the houses if found using electric motors directly to store water.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Corporation has warned of strict action and permanent disconnection of drinking water supply to the houses if found using electric motors directly to store water.

The corporation officials in Coimbatore have warned of permanently cutting off drinking water supply to the houses if an electric motor is installed in the water connection.

The Coimbatore Corporation receives water from Siruvani Dam, Pillur Water Supply Scheme. The district administration is on the move to identify and take action against the illegal storage of drinking water in the Coimbatore metropolitan area. Officials are conducting inspections to identify electric motors installed in the water pipe.

Corporation officials said, "It is illegal for those who have water connections in Coimbatore Corporation areas to install electric motors directly in the water connection. Corporation employees are inspecting houses in areas where it supplies water. During the inspection, if it is found that the water connection is being illegally motorized, the water connection will be permanently cut off."
