The results of the arrear exams were announced by the TNAU stating the candidates failed to clear, instigated the students to agitate into protests.
Coimbatore: TNAU arrear exam results shows candidates were unsuccessful, which has triggered the students to uphold protests at the university premises.
Shocked over the results in the arrear exams held last month, the students agitated in front of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) campus, a majority of them failed to clear papers.
12 bachelor’s courses are offered by the TNAU including Agricultural, Horticulture and a total of 44 colleges in which 14 direct colleges and 19 affiliated/constituent colleges offer the courses. The students alleged over the results of the arrears exams conducted in August and September as many of the students who appeared for the examination failed.
The students agitated as the marks scored in the exams have not been published but were just mentioned as ‘fail’ despite the students attending theory papers online and the practical examinations in person.
Traffic was disrupted in the area for an hour as the students blockaded the roads and gathered in front of the college.
Police arrived at the spot after receiving information and held talks with the students and broke the road blockade.
Subsequently, students are engaged in a dharna in front of the Vice- Chancellor's office inside the university campus.
Meanwhile, the students demanded to repel the faulty results and publish the result of the formal examination.
The students are in talks with university examination department officials.
