All political parties have filed a petition at the Pollachi Collectorate demanding action against the forest department officials for disposing off the huts of the Valparai division Kallar Gudi hill tribes under the Anaimalai Tiger Reserve.
Coimbatore: The Anaimalai Tiger Reserve has numerous hill stations. The natives of the hill belonging to the Kallar Gudi area next to Valparai requested the Tamil Nadu government to provide them with a house. Adhering to it, they were recently allotted housing in the forest.
The last few days they set up huts with bamboo and coconut husks in the area. The forest department who came to the area this morning removed the huts set up by the hill people without any warning. The shocked natives got into an argument with the forest department officials. But the forest department officials forcibly evicted people from the area.

The executives of all political parties in the Pollachi Collector's Office have demanded action against the foresters who have encroached and destroyed the huts. They have demanded that the huts be rebuilt on the same site as an alternative to the evicted hut. Political parties said they would go on strike tomorrow condemning the incident.
