The Tamil Nadu Government resumed general transport services between Nilgiris and Kerala from December 1 after a long lull due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Nilgiris: Public transport services between Nilgiris and Kerala resumed after several long months from today after being temporarily suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Passengers were facing hardships as there were only rail services.
Bus services resumed today between Kerala and Nilgiris as per the announcement made by the Tamil Nadu Government. 10 buses were operated from Nilgiris to Kerala today, with bus services resuming from Udhagamandalam State Transport Corporation Depot to Palakkad via Coimbatore and from Gudalur to Nilambur, Kozhikode and Kannur via Sultan Bathery and Nadukkani.
Passengers in all buses have been advised to wear masks, sanitize themselves and observe social distancing to control the spread of Covid-19 infection. Locals along the Tamil Nadu-Kerala borders are delighted at the resumption of bus services between Nilgiris and Kerala.
