Coimbatore: To date, 1,235 farmers in Coimbatore have been provided with free electricity connection. The Government of Tamil Nadu is implementing various schemes for the farmers.
On this basis, the Chief Minister announced that in the grant request of the Department of Energy for the year 2021-22, one-lakh new power connections under the agricultural sector will be provided with the objective of increasing the agricultural production of the state and improving the agricultural welfare.
On behalf of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Power Generation and Transmission Corporation, a project has been launched to provide one-lakh agricultural electricity connections to farmers.
