The health care frontline workers have intensified the measures to prevent the spread of dengue fever in Coimbatore and a door-to-door inspection is carried out upon the Corporation Commissioner’s orders.
Coimbatore: Measures to prevent the spread of dengue fever in Coimbatore have been intensified upon Corporation Commissioner, Raja Gopal Sunkara orders.
The frontline workers, during the door-to-door study in the areas limiting to the Coimbatore Corporation, make sure no containers, that might possibly store waters are unnecessarily placed in the residences. Plastic cans, flower pots, etc, were removed and it was directed that the water storage tanks must be cleaned using bleaching powders once a week.
The Aedes mosquitoes breed in clean water, thus unnecessary water containers are directed to be removed as it might cause the fever.
The Commissioner and Special Officer of the Corporation, Raja Gopal Sunkara said that due to the detection of excess larva mosquito worms in various private companies in Athipalayam Road, Ayyappa Nagar, and Chinnavedampatti under Coimbatore Corporation North Zone Ward 42, a fine of Rs.25,000/- has been imposed on the apartment concerned for spreading dengue fever.
