A 48-year old man, POCSO accused, who was out on bail was stabbed on Monday night after he was headed back home from work.
Coimbatore: A POCSO accused man was stabbed by a mysterious person last night while heading back home from work.
The Karamadai police are looking for the unidentified person who stabbed the 48-year old accused under the POCSO Act. He has been accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year old with false promises of marriage.
A 17-year old girl from the Velliyangadu Panapalayam area near Karamadai who was working in a private departmental store in Marudhur was allegedly raped multiple times by the store owner, Prince (48) who made false promises of marriage, three months ago.
The Karamadai police, who registered the complaint traced the Prince and the girl who were hiding in Gudalur in Nilgiris district. They brought Prince to the police station and conducted an intensive investigation which revealed that the girl was kidnapped and raped, after being lured on false promises of marriage.
Prince was booked under the POCSO Act, produced before the Court and imprisoned. He was released on bail four days ago after serving in jail for 90 days, and has since visited his departmental store in Marudhur. At about 9 pm last night, when he closed the shop and was headed to his house behind the shop, a mysterious man hiding in the area reportedly stabbed him with a knife and escaped, causing serious injuries to Prince.
The Karamadai police quickly rescued Prince, on information and sent him to the Mettupalayam Government Hospital and later to Coimbatore Government Hospital for further treatment after administering immediate first aid. The Karamadai police have registered a case and speculate if the victim’s relative could be involved in the stabbing. Serious investigations are underway.
