The injured are reported to be fighting for their lives at the Coimbatore Govt. Hospital.
Coimbatore: Arumugam (65) from R S Puram, his daughter Valli (35) and her husband Raja (38) were travelling in an auto to attend the funeral of a relative who died in the Karanampettai area near Palladam in Tirupur district.
The auto which was being driven by Arunachalam (52), an auto driver from the same area suddenly collided head-on with a goods auto heading towards Coimbatore from Palladam while crossing Karanampettai.It has been reported that Arumugam, Valli, Raja and auto driver Arunachalam were grievously injured in the head-on collision and fighting for their lives.
Palladam police rushed to the spot and moved the injured to the Palladam Government Hospital with the help of a private ambulance. The doctors at Palladam GH administered first aid and later sent them to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for further treatment. Police are searching for the driver of the goods auto that caused the accident. CCTV footage of the incident captured at the accident spot has caused a stir in the area.
