The Anaimalai police arrested the forest official based in Pollachi after his daughter alleged during a POCSO awareness drive held at school that her father had been sexually abusing her.
Pollachi: A forest officer in Pollachi, Anaimalai area has been booked under the POCSO Act and imprisoned after it came to light during a POCSO awareness drive held at a school that his daughter had accused him of sexual torture.
An awareness drive is being held at Government schools in and around Pollachi on the Prevention of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. During one such program at a Government school, a girl brought out an accusation against her father who was reportedly subjecting her to sexual torture. The teachers informed the Child Protection Committee of the girl's complaint and the investigations by the Committee proved that the girl's allegation was true.
The Committee lodged a complaint at the Anaimalai Police Station and the forest officer was booked under the POCSO Act. He was later produced at the Mahila Court in Coimbatore and imprisoned.
