Coimbatore: The district administration of Coimbatore is taking serious steps to avoid the spread of the Omicron variant of the virus in Coimbatore, samples collected for screening.
Measures have been intensified on behalf of Coimbatore Corporation and district administration, as the new variant, Omicron has increased the threats all over the world. The new variant is spreading at a rocket speed in countries abroad, leaving all the nations to intensify preventive measures against the new variant of the virus.
While various countries are banning aviation, a serious study is underway into the spread of Omicron and the problems it can cause.
Every day, Coimbatore records 100-150 positive cases, despite the measures being taken on behalf of the Coimbatore Corporation and district administration. Vigil has been stepped up, to monitor the spread of the new variant of corona virus, in all the districts in the state.
Subsequently, the detection of colds and fevers in Coimbatore corporation areas and rural areas has been intensified yet again.
District administration officials said, "One person per household, is appointed for about 300 households in the corporation areas are currently in the process of screening residents for cold and flu. In the coming days, the work will be intensified to 150 households per person. Similarly, more than 2,000 persons will be deployed in rural areas. In particular, information will be collected on people coming from abroad, from outside states, and those who are in touch with them."
