One of the three tourists who went to bathe in the river Thorapalli near Gudalur died. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
The Nilgiris: Three tourists from the state of Kerala have gone for a swim in the river at Thorapalli on the road from Gudalur to Mysore.
Those who were with him were screaming as one in three left the river bath and did not come out for a long time. Those in the immediate vicinity informed the police and fire department.
Fire fighters recovered the body from the river after about an hour of fighting. According to the police, Vinod (45) was one of the three persons who fell into the river without knowing how to swim when the tourists from Ernakulam, Kerala came to bathe in the river.
Police said the body was taken to Gudalur Government Hospital for autopsy. The tragedy of the death of one of the three who went to bathe at the place where he came for the tour has caused great grief.
