Company owners Mohanasundaram and Kannusamy did not appear in the Emu fraud case and a warrant was issued against them. They surrendered in Coimbatore court yesterday while police were searching. Both were then imprisoned.
Coimbatore: Two people have surrendered in court in an Emu chicken fraud case. The investigation revealed that in 2011, RK Emu Farms Poultry Company had defrauded 110 people of Rs 2.4 crore in Perundurai, Erode district, Coimbatore.
The verdict was handed down on Dec. 11 last year at the conclusion of the case in Coimbatore TANFIT Court. Both the accused were sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined Rs. 60,50,000 rupees each.
