As a result, various organizations have been blaming the Tamil Nadu government for not reducing petrol and diesel prices while various other states have and they demanded that the Tamil Nadu government reduces the price of petrol and diesel.
Petrol and diesel prices are rising day by day. In particular, the central tax on petrol, which was Rs.9.20 in 2014, will increase to Rs.32.90. Similarly, the central tax on diesel, which was Rs.3.46 in 2014, was raised to Rs.31.80 in 2021. In the last seven years alone, the central tax on petrol and diesel has been increased by 819 per cent.
