The Corporation Commissioner of Coimbatore inspected areas in the central zone on Monday during which two contractors who charged an excess fee in the health complexes, fined ₹ 5000 each.

Paying a personal visit to ward 74 in Central Zone in Coimbatore, Raja Gopal Sunkara, Commissioner and Special Officer of Corporation, the attendances of health care workers were studied on Monday. He further directed the workers to conduct a door-to-door study on the preventive measures towards dengue. Application of mosquito repellent in tanks, removal of unwanted objects that might store rainwater has to be ensured, stated the commissioner.

He further inspected the renovation of the rooftop carried out at the Gandhipuram town bus stand and directed the corporation engineers to immediately repair the areas in poor condition in the bus stand. Two contractors who charged an excess fee in the Health Complexe in the area were imposed a fine of ₹ 5000 each.

The Commissioner inspected the corporation quarters in the Tatabad area under ward 50, the PHC and health ward office in Raja Street. Assistant Executive Engineer Prabhakaran, Assistant Engineers Kumaresan, Jainraj, Angelina, Health Inspectors Pounraj, Salaiyth, and officials accompanied the Commissioner in the study
