Aashiq, a 23-year-old employee of a private company in the Vasantham Nagar area of Kuniyamuthur, allegedly sexually harassed the two students. The father of the students who came to know about this lodged a complaint with the Coimbatore West Police.
Coimbatore: A teenager has been arrested for sexually harassing school children. Police said, a 17-year-old boy from Coimbatore is studying Plus 2 and his brother is in ninth grade. Aashiq, a 23-year-old employee of a private company in the Vasantham Nagar area of Kuniyamuthur, allegedly sexually harassed the two.
He then took the two to various places including Selvapuram and sexually harassed them. The father of the students who came to know about this lodged a complaint with the Coimbatore West Police. Police have registered a case and are investigating. It was revealed that Aashiq had taken 2 students to various places and sexually harassed them.
The police subsequently registered a case under the POCSO and arrested Aashiq. He was later produced in court and remanded in custody. Police said, the number of complaints about sexual harassment is on the rise due no awareness on sexual harassment. He said the culprits would be arrested and punished.
