Police arrested 9 persons, including 31-year-old Kaleeswaran, 42, Ariyalur Arivalagan, 19, Thanjavur Murthy, 19, Pudukottai Rajesh, 29, and Hariharan, 24, from Ramanathapuram district for selling liquor near petti shops and Tasmac bars.

As many as 106 bottles of liquor were confiscated from them. Lakshmi, 46, of BN Pudur, Palpandi 49, of Ramanathapuram Olympus area, Pashupati 26, of Pudukottai district and Kamathchipuram Chittoor Pandi, 25, were arrested by the police for selling tobacco products. About 9 kg of tobacco products were confiscated.
