The DMK State Weavers’ Wing Secretary talking to the press in Pollachi stated that the wing will soon stage a protest condemning the center on GST and price hike in yarn.
Pollachi: The DMK State Weavers’ Wing Secretary stated that the wing will soon uphold a condemnation on the Union Government for an increase in yarn price and GST.
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Weavers Wing distributed golden rings to the newborns at the Pollachi GH on the occasion of the State Youth Wing Secretary Udayanidhi Stalin's birthday.

State Weavers’ Wing Secretary K.M. Nagarajan, Pollachi MP Shanmugasundaram, and Coimbatore South District DMK executive Dr. Varadarajan participated and presented gold rings to 15 children born on Udhayanidhi Stalin's birthday.

The girl children were named Senthamarai and the boys were named Arulnidhi. Following this, State Weavers’ Wing Secretary K M Nagarajan told reporters that the centre has hiked yarn prices and GST, affecting more than 100-crore trade in districts including Karur, Erode, Tirupur, and Coimbatore, leading to weavers in these districts having to sell power looms to meet daily needs.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister said several steps were being taken in this regard and if the centre does not immediately reduce the yarn price GST, a massive protest would be held on behalf of the DMK State Weavers’ team, stated the secretary.
