Police have arrested a youth who snatched a cell phone from a former soldier in Coimbatore and produced the accused in court and jailed him.
Coimbatore: A 31-year-old man was arrested in Coimbatore who attempted to take away the cell phone from an ex-army man.
Krishnamurthi, (58), ex-servicemen from Thadagam village in Coimbatore, is currently working in the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board. Krishnamurthy was headed towards Neelambur on a bus from Gandhipuram yesterday. A man snatched off Krishnamurthy’s cellphone and tried to flee when he tried to get off at Gandhipuram bus stand in Ramanathapuram.
Krishnamurthy acted quickly and caught the young man with the help of the public. He handed over the accused to Katoor police station. The accused was identified as Ramesh, (31), and was produced before the court and lodged in jail.
