The Corporation Commissioner, Coimbatore stated that action has been taken to repair the concrete roof that collapsed in the Gandhipuram bus terminal due to heavy rains.
Coimbatore: Measures have been taken to repair the damaged concrete roof in Gandhipuram.
The rooftop in Gandhipuram bus terminal in Coimbatore Corporation Central Zone, ward 54 collapsed injuring two persons.
It is stated that the heavy rains, caused the cement coating from the concrete roof (5’x 4' in size) on the first platform to collapse and fall off.
The injured have been treated and are in good condition. Appropriate action is being taken to repair the damaged concrete coatings in the above area immediately. Further, the Corporation Commissioner, Raja Gopal Sunkara stated that action has been taken to inspect the buildings owned by the Corporation where the public gathers and ascertain the stability of the building.
