Coimbatore: The monthly Farmers' Grievance Meeting was held at the Coimbatore District Collectorate on Friday.

Many who attended the meeting expressed their grievances and submitted petitions regarding various issues, and especially for their lands to be protected from wildlife.
Additional petitions to the District Collector stated that waterbodies, waterways and uncultivated Government lands were being encroached and documents procured which should be prevented. They also lamented that coconut farmers were in crisis due to the Green Tribunal and hence farmers urged inspection of agricultural lands. They also urged that a six-feet stone be painted green and placed near the area surrounding waterbodies, all across Tamil Nadu. Petitions were also raised to take action to raise the groundwater level by storing rainwater.
