The Kinathukadavu police ran a campaign on the crimes against girl children and measures to prevent them in Coimbatore on Friday.
Coimbatore: The Kinathukadavu police department organized an awareness program here on Friday, on crime against girl children.
At the awareness program held in Government high school and DELC Government Aided school- verify in Kinathukadavu, the police officers educated the students on crimes against girl children and measures of prevention.
The cops ensured that appropriate action will be taken against complaints and directed students to inform the police of any inappropriate behaviour or disturbing messages through phone calls on helpline numbers 1098 and 181.
The awareness meeting, chaired by Sub- Inspector Arul Prakash of Kinathukadavu Police Station, was attended by Women Constable Bhavadharani and Special Sub-Inspector Chandran of Kinathukadavu Police Station. Awareness among the school students about the prevention of crimes against girls was spoken of at the program.
Crime against women and children has become a recurring story, and the police department is in the view of eradicating such crimes, has taken up initiatives to conduct awareness programs for school students.
