A special camp was organized for issuing the National Unique Disability Identity Cards to the differently-abled. As many as 26 persons received their IDs.
In view of bringing the welfare schemes and concessions of the Union and State Governments to the differently-abled, throughout the country, a special National Identity Card (UDID Card) is being issued to differently-abled persons since 2017.
Differently abled persons shall register online to get this card. Applications are also issued at the District Collectorate, Coimbatore. Coimbatore district has about 33,000 differently-abled persons and measures are hastened for the provision of UDIDs to these persons. As part of the program 26 persons received their UDIDs here in Coimbatore.
