Coimbatore: Two women were injured as a part of the Gandhipuram bus terminal rooftop collapses and falls apart injuring two passengers.

At an unforeseen moment, a part of the roof to at town bus terminal in Gandhipuram in Coimbatore broke and fell off today. Two women among the passengers waiting for the buses under the Walayar bus point were injured. The injured persons were sent to the hospital for treatments through ambulances.

Fellow passengers stated that there was no casualty as only a part of the top collapsed.

Most parts of the bus stand remain unmaintained, which was built nearly 30 years ago. The continuous rains have called for immediate action from the government to repair the damaged areas or demolish the building and construct a new building before any major mishap occurs.
