Wild tuskers have been strolling in regions of Thudiyalur, the locals and farmers are panic-stricken as the animals destroy farmlands and cultivations during nights. The movement of wild elephants has spiked in the past month.
The banana plantations of Selvaraj, Rajasekar, Kumarasamy, Venkatesan, Prabhakaran, Mani of Dhaliyur region in Pannimadai were damaged as 8 wild elephants rampaged into the plantation. The elephants damaged the motor and pipeline at a house nearby. Bananas worth 1-lakh were destroyed, distressing the locals.
