Coimbatore: Wild elephant movement is on the rise in the estate areas around Valparai in Coimbatore district.

Wild elephants enter homes at night and wander in search of food in homes, schools, nutrition centers, grocery stores, tear down buildings, eat food and damage things that come in their way. Thus, the public is in great fear and the public fears of the possibility of casualties. Elephants reportedly broke into a grocery store in the area, consumed all the food items and left the place damaged.

No one was at the store at night, thus, no casualties are reported.
