The corporation officials headed by the Corporation Commissioner inspected the ongoing underground drain construction in the West zone on Thursday.
Coimbatore: The Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, Raja Gopal Sunkara, inspected the areas under west zone.
A 4 ½ km long underground drain by Tamilnadu Water Supply and Drainage Board (TWAD) is under construction in Puttuvikki road, ward 89. Corporation Commissioner, Raja Gopal Sunkara inspected the works in person and insisted in speedy completion of the works. The Commissioner inspected the UGD pipes and their working in the residences.
The Commissioner later inspected the underground sewage water pumping station in Arpudam Nagar in Vellalore, ward 99, and directed that the 2,300 residences in the area be provided with underground drainage connections after an inspection from Tamil Nadu Water Supply Board.
Assistant Commissioner Annadurai, TWAD Executive Engineer Annadurai, Assistant executive Engineer of Corporation Karuppasami, Assistant Engineers Kanagaraj, Sabariraj, Sathishkumar, and other corporation officials accompanied the Commissioner during the study.
