The Citizen’s Voice Coimbatore (CVC) has stated that the tariff spurt in telecom is inevitable however demand the PM in directing the operators to control the publicity costs through the Telecom Minister.
Coimbatore: The Citizens Voice Coimbatore (CVC) forwarded a petition to Prime Minister Modi and requested to curb the telecom tariff, through controlling the publicity and advertisement expenses.
The petition read that the unexpected sale of mobile phones has increased from 60 percent to 65 percent as the commodity is presently essential for students to IT professionals. Hence the upward revision is inevitable. However, the loss for the telecom operators is due to not following the cost-cutting measures.
They highlighted the move of the central government, in which the advertising expenses of the pharma companies were capped thus controlling the cost of medicines. The CVC has sought intervention of Prime Minister, Modi for a similar move through the Ministry of Telecommunication to control the telecom tariff.
