Mithun Chakravarty, the school teacher was arrested under POCSO Act for sexually harassing a 17-year old school girl which led to the suicide of the girl.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Special POCSO Court on Thursday granted 2 day police custody to interrogate Mithun Chakravarty, the private school teacher who was booked under POCSO in connection with the suicide of a 12th grade student.
Responding to the petition filed by the police seeking custody of Mithun Chakaravarthy for 5 says, Judge Kulasekaran reviewed the petition and ordered two days of police custody. The Police who took custody of Mithun took him to Coimbatore Government Hospital for medical examination purpose and will take him for further interrogation.
The court has granted permission for Mithun to meet his lawyer three times during police custody. The police will produce him at the Court by 6 pm of Friday, the order said.
