The Breastfeeding Bank has been operating at the Coimbatore Government Hospital since 2015 to feed malnourished babies, low birth weight babies, children of mothers who are unable to breastfeed immediately after delivery and babies who need to be breastfed for various reasons.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Government Hospital Dean, Dr. Nirmala announced that GH is leading in breast milk collection in the state.
The Breastfeeding Bank has been functional at the Coimbatore Government Hospital since 2015. Breast milk is obtained from the breast milk bank for malnourished babies, low birth weight babies, children of mothers who are unable to breastfeed immediately after delivery and babies who need to be breastfed for various reasons.
For this purpose, breast milk is donated to the Government Hospital management and stored hygienically, thus benefiting various needy infants.
