Police have registered a case of murder and are investigating Suleiman and Noormuhammad, who run a butcher shop. The deceased Fakrudeen is the 47th accused in the Coimbatore blast case. There are over 15 cases against him.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore: Police are investigating the death of a prisoner in a bomb blast case in Coimbatore.
Suleiman, (61), of Vasantham on the Coimbatore-Athupalam-Kurichipirivu-Podanur main road, was seen raising goats when he saw one of them being stolen and taken away in an auto. Suleiman and his sons Mohammed and Ibrahim chased the auto. They saw an auto parked in front of the Noor Mohammad’s shop, who runs a butcher shop on Saradha Mill Road.
Fakrudeen and Noor Mohammad from Bharathi Nagar, who were there, were questioned and Noor Mohammad returned the goat. According to a complaint lodged by Suleiman, Fakrudeen was not found when the Podanur police went to Noor Mohammad’s shop.
Police seized the auto used for the theft. Around 10:30 am, the police received information that a person was admitted to the Coimbatore Government Hospital. Investigation revealed it was Fakrudeen and in the afternoon, he succumbed to his injuries. His wife Zeenat Nisha complained to the police that her husband had been beaten to death by someone.
