Coimbatore: Necessary measures are being taken by the city corporation to ensure that rainwater does not stagnate on the road during rainy season in Coimbatore.
As part of this, measures have been taken to remove encroachments on the Sanganoor main canal near Kallimadai and desilt the plants and vines in the canal to ensure uninterrupted flow of rainwater. Similarly, the garbage left in the areas is being disposed off immediately. Further, necessary steps are being taken to completely remove the accumulated debris from all the canals and ensure the uninterrupted flow of rainwater.
A corporation official said, "Garbage in all canals is being removed with the help of JCB machines to ensure uninterrupted flow of rainwater. Sewage canal blockages are being removed by super sucker vehicles. All arrangements are in place to ensure that rainwater does not stagnate under flyovers. There are enough motors."
