The CCTV footages of a woman breaking the temple hundi in Tirupur and running away with money and temple jewellery has stirred the people in the vicinity.
Tirupur: A woman in Tirupur has appropriated cash and jewels from a temple in Tirupur, CCTV footage of the same has been recovered.
The incident of temple hundi being broken into and money swindled from Valampuri Sri Selva Vinayagar temple in Nallur area of Tirupur has caused a stir in the area.
The CCTV footages recovered after the incident shows a woman appropriating the cash by breaking open the hundi and taking away the jewels from the temple last midnight.
A case is registered by the Nallur Police and investigations are underway. The anniversary function of the temple is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, (tomorrow) and the incident has dulled the environment. Temple administrators state that a similar theft has occurred in the temple earlier.
