MoU worth 34,723 crores signed in Coimbatore at the Investors Conference in CM Stalin’s presence

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin chaired the investors conference held in Coimbatore in which an MoU worth 34,723 crores was signed.


Coimbatore: A memorandum of understanding, worth ₹ 34,723 crores was signed at the Investors Conference held at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex in Coimbatore on Tuesday.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, MK Stalin who is on a two-day visit to Coimbatore and Tirupur, attended functions in the cities on Monday and provided welfare assistance to the beneficiaries. The Chief Minister participated in an Investors Meeting in Coimbatore on 23rd November at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex.

Investors Meetings are organized in Tamil Nadu with the view of attracting investors within and outside of India and two phases of the meetings were already held at the state headquarters. The third phase of the meeting and the first in Coimbatore since DMK’s regime was successfully organized in which the Chief Minister inaugurated the completed projects, laid foundations for the new ventures. The Memorandum of Understanding for the investments, worth nearly 26 crores in the last 6 months was signed at the conference on Tuesday.



MoUs worth ₹ 34,723 cores were signed, which opens job opportunities for as many as 74,835 individuals and 52 new companies that will be established in Coimbatore, Chennai, and various other districts in the state. MoUs were signed between 7 companies in the Aerospace and Defence Department, giving 1,960 employment opportunities generating investment of 485 crores. The institutions will be located in Coimbatore, Kancheepuram, Hosur, Salem, and Trichy districts. MoU is signed on behalf of Taco Systems, one of the world's top software companies and in the list of Fortune 50 companies, to set up a manufacturing capacity center for aerospace and defence.

The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for 13 new ventures at an outlay of ₹ 13,413 crore. The Fintech 2021 policy and Tamil Nadu Single Window Mobile App was launched. Speaking later, he expressed gratitude to the frontline workers and to the people for supporting the government. The Chief Minister highlighted that three Investors meetings have been successfully held and huge investments have been generated in critical times and expressed gratitude for trusting the state government.

He added that the state will grow rapidly if more such meetings are held at the same pace and the collaborative support of his ministers and officials has gained his repute. Industries will be set up in all 32 districts and the government will work on making TN at its best. The aerospace and defence product manufacturing will be given gravity in Coimbatore and hopes to achieve a one trillion dollar target.

The government plans to pay special attention to the manufacture of e-products and has set a target of providing 25 percent of the total contribution of the country from Tamil Nadu. He had earlier visited an exhibition on behalf of industries and asked about technologies and machinery related to electric vehicle manufacturing equipment.
