Coimbatore: Motorists were relieved when the pit on Sulur- Trichy Road was closed. The pit reportedly was the cause of road accidents. The public adjusted the pit together because the highway department did not pay attention and provide a solution.
On Trichy Road, near the office of the Chinthamanipudur Sub-registrar office, water stagnated and caused a pit. As a result, many two-wheelers passing by stumbled and crashed. Vehicles, including cars, were frequently involved in road accidents at the site. No action was taken even after lodging a complaint with the National Highways Department.
