The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, who is attending government events in Tirupur and Coimbatore, distributed welfare assistance and inaugurated the complete projects in Coimbatore on Monday.
Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin arrived at Coimbatore on Monday and distributed welfare assistance to the beneficiaries.
The event was organized at the VOC Ground in Coimbatore where the TN Chief Minister, MK Stalin laid the foundation stone for new development projects, inaugurated the completed works, and distributed government welfare assistance. About 128 completed works at an outlay of ₹ 89.73 crore are declared for public use. Another 67 new projects were inaugurated, for an estimate of ₹ 596.02 crores.
As many as 23,534 beneficiaries received government welfare assistance at the cost of ₹ 441.76 crores.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Stalin stated that, though the party was not victorious in the Coimbatore constituencies, the Makkal Sabha Meeting is being held here, he said.
“I have appointed Senthil Balaji in charge and this Government sees people of all districts as same.” said the CM.
Ensuring that action will be taken if a petition is filed, he added that a separate department was formed the same day the DMK government took charge to look into the petitions received before elections. As far as the DMK government is concerned, action will be taken against it, if a petition is filed. He stated that many are still submitting petitions, which shall be looked into soon. The Chief Minister said that individual’s requests are far more important than new schemes.
Expressing his happiness in inaugurating a lot of projects, he said that a sum of ₹ 1132 crore has been allocated for the expansion of Coimbatore International Airport and land acquisition work will commence soon. The city corporation will be provided with drinking water every two days.
Further, he said, “In the last regime, no project roads were laid. A sum of ₹ 200 crore is allocated for five roads project. The prison in Coimbatore Corporation area will be taken to the outer part of the city.”
The Chief Minister added that steps have been taken to set up Coimbatore urban development authority. Coimbatore, being a major industrial hub, said that such development has to be achieved in other districts. He expressed his wish for Tamil Nadu to become the first industrial state in India.
“New openings will be established at the Industrial Investment Conference tomorrow. We will make Tamil Nadu the leading industrial state in India and Coimbatore will be the first of them.” the CM said.
