Coimbatore: The negligence of the labor welfare board has affected the lives of over one lakh unorganized workers across the state. The workers union demandsappropriate action from the state Chief Minister.
Over one lakh unorganized workers across Tamil Nadu have been unable to avail various assistance since 2016, due to the negligence of labor welfare authorities provided by the Welfare Board. The Unorganised Workers Development Union demanded that the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister takes steps to resolve thIs pending issue.
In his statement, General Secretary of Anna Construction and Unorganized workers Welfare Board of Coimbatore, Tirupur, Nilgiris, G. Murugesan stated,that The Anna Construction and Unorganized labor welfare board 1002/of Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Nilgiris was annexed to the Labour Development Association. The pension for the members who have applied for welfare schemes from the welfare board workers since 2016, pension for families of labours completing 60 years of age, Natural/ accidental death, disability due to accident, etc., have to be provided without delay.
On behalf of the workers, theChief Minister of Tamil Nadu was urged to provide financial resources to the unorganized workers and take steps to ensure that they have a permanent and uninterrupted right to life, just as the Construction and Auto Welfare Board has a large number of funds and revenue.
Many have been deprived of the welfare assistance announced by the TN Government 1982,1994 construction board Unorganized labour 1999, stating there were no renewals. The workers have been distressed waiting this long and by the repeated wanderings for labor, time and renewal of their labor, and time to get the registration renewal and plan.
The motives of ex-veteran politicians,Kalaignar, MGR, and J Jayalalithaa who constituted the Labour Welfare Board through the Labour Welfare Department to make it easier for the unorganized workers to have their right to life is in vain.
Due to the negligence of labor welfare officials, more than one lakh people across Tamil Nadu have been unable to register and renew in the Welfare Board despite their qualifications, which has been depriving them of various welfare assistance.
The Chief Minister has been requested to take steps to resolve the issue.
