The city police are on the hunt for two young men who attempted to steal sheep early this morning and fled as they were chased by cops.
Coimbatore: Two men who tried to steal sheep were chased by the police. This prompted the men to throw the sheep midway and escape from there. Police are on the hunt for the duo.
The district police who were on a patrol early this morning chased away the sheep thieves at the Kannarpalayam region.
Sivaprakash (37) is a constable at the Karamadai police station. He was patrolling the Kannarpalayam area early this morning. They tried to stop two young men on bikes carrying lambs. The men tricked the police and fled the scene. The police chased the two men who threw the lambs near Onnipalayam and escaped in the blink of an eye, fearing that they would be caught by the police.
The cops rescued the lambs and have shared pictures of the lamb on social media to identify the owners. An investigation is underway as to whose place the lamb was stolen from.The incident is spreading rapidly on social media. Police have registered a case and are investigating the youths who stole the lamb.
Sub-Inspector Bhuminathan, who works at Navalpattu police station in Trichy district, was hacked to death by the mob when he went to nab the goat thieves. The incident has come as a shock to the police and the public across Tamil Nadu.
