A train passenger found his cell phone missing and lodged a complaint with the Podanur Railway Police. The police sub-inspector registered a case and is investigating. CCTV cameras footage at the station inspected.
Coimbatore: Police have arrested a youth who stole a cellphone from a train passenger in Coimbatore. Santhosh Kumar, (35), of Veerapandi, Tirupur district, is an employee of a private company. He was on his way to Coimbatore by train from Bengaluru on the day of the incident.
The cell phone in his pocket was missing when he arrived in Coimbatore. He was shocked to find that the cell phone was missing and immediately got off the train and lodged a complaint with the Podanur Railway Police. The police sub-inspector and the police have registered a case and are investigating. Police inspected the footage from then CCTV cameras installed at the station.
They were also searching for the stolen cell phone number. By tracing the cell phone numbers they caught the robber. The investigation revealed that he was Lokesh (45) from Tirupur and that Santosh Kumar had stolen the railway cellphone. Railway police arrested and jailed him.
