8 wild elephants trespassed the residential area of the Uralikal Estate, near Valparai, broke into the ration shop and destroyed the building. Upon information forest officers chased away group of wild tuskers.
Coimbatore: Wild elephant movement is on the rise in the Valparai area of Coimbatore district.
Elephants trespass into residential areas and demolished houses, fair price shops, school nutrition centers and the likes. The public has demanded that the forest department engages in the task of driving away the elephants without bringing them into the residential area.

Last night near Valparai, a group of 8 wild tuskers trespassed into the residential area of the Uralikal Estate, broke into the ration shop, devouring the rice and wheat stored inside and destroying the building.

Upon information the forest officers chased away wild elephants from the area. To prevent wild elephants from entering the residential area, the forest department has demanded the public monitors the movement of wild elephants at night and drives away the tuskers into the forest.
