37 Dogs from 15 Zonal Railways participated in the All India RPF Inter Railway Dog Squad Competition that was held at Zonal Training Centre for Dogs, Podanur from 17.11.2021 to 19.11.2021.
Coimbatore: All India RPF Inter Railway Dog Squad Competition was held at Zonal Training Centre for Dogs, Podanur from 17.11.2021 to 19.11.2021.
In all, 37 Dogs from 15 Zonal Railways participated in the Competition. The competition was held in 03 categories i.e. tracking, Explosive and Narcotics. Events were conducted in obedience, ground search, vehicle search, building search, human body search and luggage search.
The performance of the dogs was judged by P. Pandi, Rtd. Inspector/Zonal Training Centre for Dogs/Podanur, V.S.Ravi Rtd. Inspector/HQ/Chennai and Soundararajan, Rtd. Sub-Inspector/Dog squad/Tamil Nadu Police. Based on the marks obtained in the above test, the Dogs were selected for the first, second and third places in each trade.The following Dogs bagged prizes in each trade.
Explosive Trade:
First place: DOG REMO/South Central Railway-Handler- B.Vijay Raju
Second Place: DOG ANEX/Northern Railway-Handler-Sohan Singh
Third Place: DOG VEERU/Western Railway-Handler-Madan Mangar
Tracker Trade:
First place: DOG JANSHI/Southern Railway-Handler-R.Karthi ASI
Second Place: DOG LARA/Southern Railway-Handler- Santhosh
Third Place: DOG RANI/East Central Railway-Handler- Dilip Sah
Narcotic Trade:
First place: DOG VEERU/Central Railway-Handler-Deepak Patel
Second Place: DOG LANARK/Western Railway-Handler-Sandeep Kumar
Third Place: DOG RIO/North Eastern Railway -Handler-R.S.Tiwari
Southern Railway was declared overall champion and Western Railway was the runner up.
P. V. Murali Krishna, Chief Workshop Manager, and chief guest declared the meet open on 17.11.2021.
A. Gautham Srinivas Divisional Railway Manager/Salem Division who was the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony held on 19.11.2021, distributed the prizes to the winners. S.Sivasankaran Divisional Security Commissioner/Railway Protection Force/Salem Division delivered the Tournament report. A. Sajith Kumar Sr. Commandant/105 BN/ RAF/Coimbatore and K.K Subramani Divisional/Engineer/West/Salem were the Guests of Honour.
