College students at Coimbatore Government Arts College boycotted classes demanding action against a professor who sexually abused students.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Government Arts students have lodged a complaint with the college administration with evidence that a professor at the Coimbatore Government Arts College was inappropriately talking to students.
The Student Federation of India lodged a complaint with the District Collector yesterday with the relevant evidence as no appropriate action had been taken in this regard.

As a result, more than a hundred students boycotted classes this afternoon and staged a protest in front of the college, saying they would not disperse until appropriate action is taken.

The students stressed that departmental action against the professor alone was not enough and that legal action should be taken.

Following this, the students abandoned the protest following the conciliation talks held by the police. A tense situation prevailed at the entrance of the college due to the struggle.
